Choose an approach.

Nintendo presents three tank categories. Use this page to translate the official framing into a first-run choice, not to find an invented tier list or a permanent best build.

Start with the kind of pressure you want to apply.

The selector restates Nintendo's published language in plain English. It does not make numerical, balance, or meta claims.

01 / Speed Tank

Move before the swarm closes in.

Nintendo describes the Speed Tank as an assortment of mobility gadgets. It is the natural first look if repositioning sounds more appealing than standing your ground.

Official framing: mobility gadgets.

The category tells you the official emphasis, not your final loadout.

Speed is Nintendo's mobility-gadget category. Power is the category for gadgets that smash through crowds with brute force. Tactical uses gadgets to control the battlefield. These short descriptions answer a useful preference question: move, push, or control. They do not prove damage numbers, cooldowns, enemy matchups, or which category is strongest after a patch.

Loot can change tanks and gadgets later.

Nintendo says the loot you find can further customize tanks and gadgets. That makes a first tank choice less of a permanent commitment. It does not reveal the full modification system, item list, or a recommended build path, so those claims should wait for a dated, attributable source.

Speed

Mobility gadgets.

A fit for a player who prefers repositioning in Nintendo's public framing.

Power

Brute force.

A fit for a player drawn to the direct crowd-smashing description.

Tactical

Battlefield control.

A fit for a player who prefers controlling the space around a fight.

There is no official "best tank" answer.

A public category description is not a tier list. Nintendo's source provides three different playstyle framings, and it says customization exists. Until a claim is supported by official data or clearly dated hands-on testing, a responsible guide should not promote one tank as universally optimal.
